Our history
Phoenix Contact recognized early on that the future of mobility is electric. That is why our e-mobility business unit can now look back on over a decade of successful history. A good time to highlight the most important milestones, successes, start-ups and cooperations.

2025 – Market launch of CCS megawatt charging
High Power Charging is redefined with the second generation of cooled CCS charging cables. The improved cooling concept enables charging powers of up to 1 megawatt. This makes CCS charging attractive for utility vehicles too.

2024 – Foundation of E-Mobility Holding SE
The independent subgroup, headed by Andreas Rau, bundles the global, strategic development of the Phoenix Contact Group’s e-mobility business and manages the e-mobility subsidiaries in Germany, Poland, China and the USA.

2023 – 10th anniversary
10th anniversary: We look back on a successful decade of rapid development. Starting out as a small start-up, we are now a global player with over 1,000 employees, 25 production lines and more than 600 products.

2022 – Environmental certification and laboratory accreditation
We successfully pass the audits for certification of our environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 by DQS and for accreditation of our testing and approval laboratory in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 by DAkkS.

2020 – New production facilities in Poland and Germany
We are once again expanding our production capacities. Our new plant in Rzeszów, Poland, is opened and the production area at our headquarters in Schieder-Schwalenberg is also expanded.

2019 – AC charging cable wins three awards
The new generation of our AC charging cables has won the German Design Award, the IF Design Award and the Good Design Award for its modern design language and particularly ergonomic design.

2019 – Change in the Group Executive Board
At the beginning of the year, Michael Heinemann and Ralf Döhre take over the management of Phoenix Contact E-Mobility GmbH. The previous General Manager Oliver Stöckl is leaving the Group for family reasons.

2019 – Innovator of the year
German Business (DDW) awards us Innovator of the Year 2019 for our HPC technology. Honorary award winner Dr. Wladimir Klitschko presents our General Manager Michael Heinemann with the business award.

2018 – High Power Charging market launch
The first series-produced HPC charging cables are delivered and used in fast charging stations throughout Europe. Together with Allego, BMW, Porsche and Siemens, we are demonstrating the practicality of ultra-fast charging in the FastCharge research project.

2018 – Expansion of administration and production
Just five years after our foundation, the administrative area in Schieder-Schwalenberg is more than doubled. Production capacities are also expanded to meet the growing international demand.
