Rethinking light & charging: design charging station from RZB ENERGY meets AC charging controller from Phoenix Contact

The mobility of the future is networked, sustainable – and intelligently controlled. This vision is already becoming reality at the AES Park Blomberg. There, smart lighting and charging stations from RZB ENERGY not only ensure brightness, but also full batteries. Inside, the AC charging controller CHARX control modular is at work – the digital backbone of a charging infrastructure that thinks for itself, grows with you and impresses with its safety.

Light meets charging intelligence at the AES Park in Blomberg

Three smart 2-in-1 solutions from RZB ENERGY are being used in the AES Park at Phoenix Contact’s headquarters in Blomberg, combining lighting and charging functions in a single system. In addition to DC fast chargers, e-car drivers now have a total of six AC charging points with a maximum charging power of 22 kW each at their disposal. The combination of intelligent lighting technology and charging infrastructure that complies with calibration law not only offers functional advantages, but also a particularly space-saving and architecturally appealing solution for modern charging parks.

Charging in compliance with calibration law - also in a network

With the new PRO series, RZB ENERGY offers a solution for public spaces that complies with calibration law and impresses not only with its design but also with its technical sophistication. The certified conformity in accordance with the German Measurement and Verification Act and the German Measurement and Verification Ordinance enables billing to the exact kilowatt hour, which is transparent, traceable and eligible for subsidies. Particularly clever: up to twelve charging points can be realized with just one display in a client-server network. This is an ideal solution for hotels, parking garages or municipal charging parks.

The smart centerpiece: CHARX control modular

Powerful charging infrastructure needs a reliable and future-proof charging controller. RZB relies on the AC charging controller CHARX control modular from Phoenix Contact. It offers:

  • Modularity and scalability: from individual charging points to complex charging parks – thanks to DIN rail connectors and web-based management (WBM), commissioning is extremely simple.
  • Cybersecurity by design: Already prepared for RED (EN 18031) and the Cyber Resilience Act – with regular, free security updates.
  •  Open interfaces: ISO 15118, OCPP, MQTT, Modbus/TCP – for maximum flexibility when integrating into backend systems, smart grids or building management systems.
  • Calibration law-friendly architecture: The separation of control unit and measuring capsule enables software updates without loss of certification.
